You bump into Jason in the break room. He looks away.

“Can we have a talk?” you ask. Jason nods.

The break room is empty, so you grab a table.

“I’m sorry about what happened at the project retrospective this afternoon,” you say. “I should have prepared better for the project retrospective by spending more time with you to understand the current situation. What’s more, I couldn’t care less if we used agile or some other methodology,” you add. “My priority is to help the team build the best product they can.”

For the first time, Jason looks surprised. He remains silent while fidgeting with his left ear.
