Mr Key

Mr Key was a Taiwanese government employee who became rich by investing in real estate in Vietnam. His story is a perfect example of someone who grabbed every opportunities that knocked at his door.

Mr Key was working in a fertilizer government agency when one day, he saw an advertisement for a job in Vietnam : « If anyone can go to Vietnam to develop the fertilizer industry as technical support, the Taiwanese government will pay him his original salary plus 3000$ per month ».

Even if the salary was really interesting nobody in the office wanted to go working in Vietnam because at that time it was a communist country. Mr key himself did not want to go there but something happened that make him change his mind. His younger son went to a grocery store with a friend, his friend stole something and they got caught by the guard. The two teenagers were beaten by the guard and Mr Key ’s son returned home with a broken leg.
Mr Key was not at home at that time but only the grand father and when he saw that he was really upset and decided to go to the grocery store to tell the guard that the punishment was too hard. The grandfather got also beaten by the guard. He decided then to call his other son, to tell him the story. Mr key’s brother knew some gangsters and he called them to go beat the guard.

Unfortunately the gangsters beat the grocery store guard to death. At that moment nobody told the story to Mr key and so when the police started to investigate he had no idea of what happened.
At some point Mr key started to worry about this he thought that he could be arrested for something he didn’t do. He then suddenly remember about the job offer in Vietnam.« I might better leave and work there » he thought.
When he went back to find the advertisement he could not find it, the next day he found out a new offers, same as the previous one but with a higher salary, 6000$ per month plus original salary.
Mr key accepted the offer and go working in Vietnam. After one year in Vietnam he wanted to come back to Taiwan but a colleague of him in from Taiwan offered him to continue working in Vietnam for 7000$ per month so he decided to stay one more year.
In two years in the country he saved 140000$, he wanted to go back to Taiwan but he found out that Vietnam had a very strict foreign policy control and he could not take the money out of the country. Somebody suggest him to reinvest the money in Vietnam, Mr Key listened to this advice and wanted to invest in real estate but to do that he needed to get the Vietnamese citizenship. He got it and then he invested in Hotel in Saïgon, he bought old buildings own by US people, renovated it and made an hotel business.

Today Mr key is a rich man, he grabbed the opportunity and went to Vietnam when nobody wanted to.
