Growth Catalyst

A little summary after Go-jek boot camp engineering I joined supply chain team. Why I am interested in this team is because I challenged to make a new system that will replace the existing system. Yeah, that feels very huge.

Another big challenge is all of my team is a newbie in Golang and all other tools that we will use. As a dumb and newbie in golang, my team starts this journey by doing research about golang standard, best practice, and framework that we can use with ease.

And the result is we are not choosing any framework as our base project, we decide to make our own framework. Because we go deep into some famous framework but we cant stand if our project will have many unused dependencies. I think that choice will be hard for us to implement with all kind of limitation that we have. The big question is keep coming to me, can I do that? I can’t, but we can. Here something that my team takes as a guideline while does this:

That is the only way to find the best practices in building the best code. When you feel that your code is enough that means you already reach your limit. by not believing that my solution nor my team solution is perfect we kept finding the best solution

Nothing is perfect, we need to realize that we work for our users. If we keep trying to make our framework to be perfect, backlog can’t burn them self. And you realize you make something that will never use.

yep, by the time your code grows. never let your code have smell!!. Keep making them clean like your new apartment.

And when all this thing is done and that time when you can feel very proud about your work, You start realizing that your growth as a software engineer is beyond your limit. You can reach the same state by doing it on your own, but perhaps it takes a longer time. Use your team as a catalyst to go beyond your limit.
