Using Azure Functions Core Tools in Azure Cloud Shell

This is now available by default in all cloud shell instances :)

Hack out ;)

Though cloud shell is just another Ubuntu Container, you don’t have access as a root user, so using apt-getto install the tools will just fail! Core tools release come in many formats and get distributed through npm, chocolatey, homebrew, apt, zip file, or even source code. So how did I do it?!

Here are the steps:

Now you have installed, with each new version just re-execute the command again with the new version.

You can create a function project using any of the tutorials available online, but the simplest way is to func init func new inside a new folder.
