Bhagawad Geeta!

(As I see it)

Geeta begins with confusion.
Arjuna got confused on a battlefield,
Krishna dispelled his darkness
The knowledge has become a living guide

War is a metaphor
The author wanted a situation,
Where one is standing at a crossroads
And cannot choose a direction

He chose war,
Which- probably never happened!
Four million warriors died in 18 days
That was difficult for me to fathom

Geeta is a civilized debate between two friends
All that is physical and metaphysical- transcends
It shows one how to live life
That is a handy user manual par excellence

Keep doing your work- untiringly.
Try and give your optimum
Do not compete with others, nor bother about the outcome
And you will get the result- maximum

Train your mind
The mind could be your foe or companion!
It could empower you if trained in a proper way
Lest would lead to your ruination!

The seasons change; summer moves to winter.
People change; trivial turn to those who matter
The only constant in life is a change
Accept the change lest you find yourself in tatters!

Get rid of anger and fear of death
Believe in your credibility
Have patience and focus
That is the way to enhance your productivity

You have enjoyed free water, free light, and free oxygen
Learn to see a bit of you in everything around you
Look for divinity in everyone
Learn to see a bit of everything around you in you!

Give something back in exchange.
Treat all the living creatures as your family
Find happiness within you
Choose not transient things like power, money, and glory!

Every action has consequences.
Choose your actions carefully.
There is nothing like good or wicked deed
It is an intent that decides it finally

Do not fret over which you do not have a control
Life is full of ups and downs
Both successes and failures are detractors
Maintain the balance all around

Choose hard work and commitments.
Choose peace and contentment.
Play the game to play, and not to win
If you are good enough, you will attain enrichment!

If things go drastically wrong
A savior will be born one day
It could be you or anyone
Just don’t let your self-belief be decayed!

My teacher, mom, and dad
All were saying the same things all along
I did not know- albeit
It was already there in this small book of sacred songs.
