Happiness Is An Inside Job

Have you ever wondered whether putting up a smile on a face means you’re happy or just a way of pretending to be happy? Let me tell you a secret-Happiness is an inside job. If a person is a content from within it will show on his face. You just have to do one job to get happiness in life- tame your negative thoughts and approach every day with optimism. It is said that for “every minute you’re angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness”. So let me tell you few ways of being happy in this stressful environment which we call “life”.

There are few things to keep in mind if you want to be happy. As you know the happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts, so whenever you start getting negative thoughts, try to get rid of them as soon as possible because they are the hindrance to your happiness. As we know happiness isn’t something that just happens to you. Everyone has the power to make small changes in our behaviour, our surroundings and our relationships that can help set us on course for a happier life.

We all know what our mind is capable of doing so we should keep it in check by Controlling our negative thoughts- whenever you have a negative thought write it down and ask yourself:-

The bottom line: Negative thinking happens to all of us, but if we recognize it and challenge that thinking, we are taking a big step toward a happier life.

Writing about oneself and personal experiences — and then rewriting your story — can lead to behavioural changes and improve happiness. Some research suggests that writing in a personal journal for 15 minutes a day can lead to a boost in overall happiness and well-being, in part because it allows us to express our emotions, be mindful of our circumstances and resolve inner conflicts. Numerous studies show that writing and rewriting your story can move you out of your negative mindset and into a more positive view of life. Give it a try.

When people get up and move, even a little, they tend to be happier than when they are still. Find a sustaining and satisfying job; do your best to live in a happy place; surround yourself with social support; take care of your health, and be generous (in spirit, time and money) in order to pave your own personal road to happiness.

One of my favourite bits of happiness advice comes from Ms Rubin, author of “Happiness at Home”. She proffers a One-minute rule that I have found incredibly useful in my own life that is- Do any task that can be finished in one minute.

We tend to be happier when we connect with other people. So surround yourself with people you love and happiness will follow.

Giving yourself the gift of more time, if you can afford it, is a quick and convenient way to a happier life.

So we can conclude this by saying there is one medicine or formula that will make you happy. It is the work which you have to do yourself. Sit down for a moment stop whatever you’re doing and think of the things which makes you happy and do that and see how happiness flows back in your life. If you’re happy, happiness comes to you. As there is a saying “ Some pursue Happiness. Others create it. What will you do? Life is full of Choices. Choose Happiness as it is an inside job.
