On Solitude

Solitude is the real freedom, for it provides peace of mind.

Upon ignoring quantum theory; Individualism in a physiological sense makes you capable of containing an inner universe of meta-physicality. And the mind is the biological device that helps in connecting your physical self with the metaphysical one.

You are referred to as a human being. A being with certain humane traits. That’s what makes you, you. Because you can be, Be. And this very notion lets you be called an individual. A being separated from other beings in this physical universe of objects and subjects.

What human beings forget along the way, or rather never learn, is that the true reality of humanity is that it has come to the world bare-handed, naked and alone, and it would go that way from this world, although it may not be naked but surely bare-handed and alone.

This brings into the equation the idea that being individual, alone, and in solitude is the default natural position upon which humanity is set. This could be verified by extracting some shreds of evidence from history.

Humans lived in caves and under the rocks in a very brutal and nasty manner. They didn’t care about relationships as much as they cared for their own lives.

Then agriculture came along, and the population density of earth increased from almost nothing to an unimaginable magnitude, as per that time. Upon revolving the wheel of agriculture for several millennia, industrialization brewed along with the increasing desire for accumulating material wealth more than what’s essential and adequate for survival.

And after the industrial age came the current age of tech and global connections. Everything moved from plurality to singularity. From living in caves as individuals have now changed to living in cities and metropolitans for the sake of satisfying the unnecessary desires of the human mind.
